Your Art, Perfectly Framed: A Guide to Choosing the Right Size

Simon Ip

When I opened my online store, I wanted to ensure that anyone could easily frame their art and enjoy it on their wall. As an artist, I’ve put great thought into designing prints in popular sizes, making it simple for you, the art lover, to find the perfect frame without the hassle. Whether you’re creating a sleek, minimalist display or a bold, gallery-inspired look, my prints are ready to fit right in. And it doesn’t stop at prints—my greeting cards can also make beautiful, frame-worthy pieces! To make things easier, I’ve included affiliate links in this blog post for frames I recommend. Here’s my guide to choosing the perfect frame for your artwork.

Choosing the Right Frame Size

I chose these sizes to make framing simple and accessible, so you can focus on enjoying your artwork:

40 x 50 cm (16 x 20")

30 x 40 cm (12 x 16")

  • Best Frame Options: Frames in this size are widely available and provide a clean, modern fit for your print.
  • Luxurious Tip: To elevate your display, consider a larger frame, like 40 x 50 cm (16 x 20"), with a mat (a border inside the frame). The mat gives your print extra breathing space and adds a sophisticated, gallery-quality feel.
  • For example the Oh là là print at 30 x 40 cm can fit into a 40 x 50 cm (16 x 20") frame matted to 30 x 40 cm (12 x 16").

     A4 (21 x 29.7 cm)

    Why Framing Matters

Framing is the final step in bringing your art to life. It protects your prints, enhances their beauty, and makes them an integral part of your home. Whether you’re framing a 30 x 40 cm print, an A4 artwork, or even a greeting card, the right frame can make all the difference.

    Bonus: Frame Your Greeting Cards!

Did you know your greeting cards can also double as art? I’ve sized my cards at 4 x 6" (10 x 15 cm), the same as a standard photo. They fit perfectly in smaller frames and are a fun way to personalize spaces like your desk, bedside table, or entryway. Framing a greeting card is a simple way to add a personal, artistic touch to your decor. For example, get a 5 x 7" frame matted to 4 x 6".

Your art deserves to be celebrated—and with this guide, you’re all set to find the perfect frame to showcase it. Happy framing!
